The Little Angel Theatre is a puppet theatre catering for children, families and adults, off Upper Street in the London Borough of Islington. The 100-seat theatre, in a former Temperance hall, was opened on 24 November 1961, by founder John Wright with a performance of ''The Wild Night Of The Witches''. In January 2006, Peter Glanville took over as artistic director, who was then replaced in January 2014 by Adam Bennett〔(''The History of The Little Angel'' ) accessed 25 Oct 2008〕 In 2011, the theatre celebrated its 50th anniversary with a revival of ''Wild Night Of The Witches''. The theatre is both a producing and receiving house, showing work throughout the year other than for a short time in the summer. The theatre also runs participation activities for adults, teenagers and children on a termly basis. Professional development of puppeteers and the development of new work is supported by a continuing programme of work.
